| Youth attend a one week camp “Forkhorn Camp” directed by the Minnesota Deer Hunters Assoc and Boy Scouts of America. At the camp kids learn basic wilderness skills and are introduced to the basics of archery hunting. By the end, they will have earned their Hunters Safety certification. |

| ...Starting a lifetime of autumns on the land |
Youth are paired with a mentor-often a parent-and given the opportunity to hunt on private lands within the St. Croix corridor. These lands are open for Bucks and Buckthorn hunters only, during the entire fall archery season. Youth and mentors must abide by strict safety and trespass rules.

| Youth and adult hunters return to the land throughout the year to complete restoration projects and participate in ecological learning events. Restoration projects include pulling buckthorn, planting prairie, prescribed fires, planting oak trees and pulling weeds. Eco-events include; falconry, bird-banding, specimen dissection, radiotelemetry and deer anatomy. |
